In this year’s Consumer Rights Day, reporter showed that many stores installed the surveillance cameras which can collect the information of consumers’ faces illegally. This issue has attracted people’s attention of the face recognition.

With the development of AI and technology, face recognition has become a hot topic and it gradually infiltrated into our daily life. As one of the most advanced recognition, AI will collect the key feature of people’s face, then compare them with the data in computer, which means that it is reliable and efficient.

2. Face Recognition In School / การจดจำใบหน้าในโรงเรียน
If you are careful enough, maybe you have already found that our college is using face recognition to identify students’ ID. Students just facing to the camera and the AI will recognize who you are. Improving efficiency and ease of management is the advance of the face recognition as access control system.

Face recognition can also be used to monitor the status of students so the teacher can modify teaching method according to the AI‘s summary after class.

As we know, one of the advances of face recognition is efficiency.

Face payment is one of the most common application of the face recognition. Customers can just scan their face to finish the payment which save a lot of time and improve customers’ feeling. Another application of face recognition is access control in library or the hotel. Because of the immutability of personal face, face recognition has a high security.

What amazes us most is that face recognition is a good partner of criminal investigation and management. Face recognition has contributed to reducing the crime rate. For example, AI can find the similar face feature according to the character of criminal. In the prison, AI can recognize weird action and avoid violence issue.

4. Problem / ปัญหา
Concealment is the advance but also the disadvance of face recognition. In smart age, privacy leak is inevitable. In recent years, from star flights and address information being reselled, airline mileage being stolen, and even users’ “face data” being sold at clear prices, not only the entertainment industry has become a privacy breach area, but also ordinary users and consumers on many platforms, suffer from privacy leaking.

Face recognition has been widely used in government, military, banking, social welfare, e-commerce, security and defence and other fields. With the further maturity of technology and the improvement of social recognition, face recognition technology will be applied in more fields.
